When you start to feel an illness coming on there are several different remedies you can try to hasten your recovery.

  • When the cold first comes on- take note of your detox pathways (urinating, defecating, and sweating) Which one seems sluggish? Address this and mucus may stop building up.
  • Drink plenty of fluids- Aim to drink at least half of your body weight in water, Dehydration make all symptoms worse
  • Throat Coat tea will sooth the throat so you can keep up with your fluids.
  • Eat healthy foods- lots of fruits, vegetable, soup broths These are easy to digest and high in nutrients.
    • No sugar no alcohol, no processed foods


  • Honey has many healing properties- for one it will sooth the throat and it has been know to have antibacterial properties. Eat spoonful’s raw or mixed with cinnamon.  Once honey has been heated it loses much of its healing properties
  • Take an antiviral/ antibacterial like grapefruit seed extract, Colloidal Silver, Oil of Oregano, or Garlic several time a day.
  • Zinc Lozenges have been found to increase healing by 300%


  • Essential oils
    1. 8 drops oregano, 2 drops cinnamon, 3 drops frankincense take twice a day
    2. Spray Theives or Shield into your throat
    3. Gargle with 1 drop oregano, 1 drop cinnamon and 2 drops lemon, or thieves or Shield
    4. Prevention- diffuse- 2 drops cinnamon and 2 drops eucalyptuses
  • Warms baths- with Epson salts, magnesium flakes, or mustard bath,or clay
  • Rest- and de stress your life- Sleep is essential to healing


  • Himalayan Rock salt
    1. Anti-inflammatory properties
    2. Sooths the accumulated mucus as it sooths the throat
      1. Recipe: Heat a glass of water and 1 teaspoon of salt, stir the mixture until the salt dissolves. Gargle the mixture 3 times a day for several minutes.
  • Ginger
    1. It reduces the phlegm and aids in its expulsion,
    2. It sooths the throat and eliminates hoarseness
      1. Grade a large piece of ginger and boil in a cup of water. Boil for 3 minutes then strain and add a tablespoon of honey.  Drink 3 times a day
