At Home Solutions for a Cough
- Mixture of flax seed, honey and lemon
- Flax will sooth the throat and the bronchial discomfort
- Honey is a cough suppressant
- Boil 2-3 Tables spoons of flax seed in 1 cup of water until thick. Strain and add 3 T of honey and lemon. Take as needed for cough suppression
- Black peppercorns for a wet cough
- Black pepper stimulates circulation
- 1 tsp of fresh ground pepper, add 2 tsp of honey in a cup of boiling water- let it seeps for 15 min. Strain and sip as needed.
- 1 tsp raw honey with a generous amount of fresh ground pepper and eat

- Suck a lemon for quick cough relief- Quarter a fresh lemon, sprinkle with lots of black pepper and salt, suck on it for quick relief.
- Raw Honey
- It is a rich demulcent- coats and sooths those irritated mucus membranes

- Take 1 Tablespoon of honey 1-3 times daily as needed to control coughing. Take immediately before bed if cough is disrupting your sleep.
- Licorice Tea
- It is an expectorant and a demulcent, simultaneously soothing your airway while loosening and thinning mucus- easing congestion.
- It eases any inflammation that is irritating your throat.
- Do not take if you are on Steroid
- Add 2 Tablespoons of dried licorice root to 1 cup boiling water. Seep for 10-15 minutes. Drink the entire cup twice a day.
